A short review of the talking picture that Buster Keaton should never act.
On November 9th, 2017, the last Thursday night, I watched a film that I wish I never saw, which was Parlor, Bedroom, and Bath. It is a sound comedy produced by the greedy Profiteering Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and directed by Edward Sedgwick in 1931. Parlor, Bedroom, and Bath is not only the worst work of Keaton's features, but it is also the only film that Buster Keaton should never be participated and acted. The only good element that I found in this film, was the better sound mixing than Keaton's previous talking features: Free and Easy and Doughboy.
The first spot in this film is that the film has a sluggish pace, and its lines are long and tardy. It takes too much time to establish the story background and to make audiences get into the film world. Audiences might lose their attention at the very first act I of the film. Without the sound and the nude scenes, audiences lose their interest in the film before the protagonist Keaton showing up in the movie.
The second spot in the film is overloaded and has too many desultorily conflicts. I would like to cut the crap, this comedy script is a disaster, and the film script should be burned in the big fire. Although Keaton's old stiff, stony face doesn't fit with the sound comedic feature, he didn't screw up previous talking movies. But the script definitely made Keaton provided his most horrible and embarrassing, awkward performances. For example, in Act III of the film, the scene in Bedroom, Keaton had to kiss women in various antics, awkward and awkward ways. As a Keaton's big fan, I feel extremely embarring and awkward. Other audiences may feel the scriptwriters of this Film are fooling with audiences, and they might feel offended by the ridiculous plot.
Overall, I think it's the worst movie that I have seen, and I think Keaton should not act and even take a part in this tedious and ridiculous project.
