1. 看这部电影的时候，我在想，厄，有多少中国孩子也是这样的呢。
   可是，事实上，其实，简单的生活也是很容易的，我是说，不想着考好学校，和其他的孩子一样快乐的玩。
   
   看这部电影的时候 ，直到最后才适应了这种口音，我不确定，究竟是印度口音奇怪呢，还是澳大利亚口音奇怪
2.  girl's friendship&growing pains as chewy rice, put in the contemporary mainstream issue of culture shock& race differeial in the UK as the curry source, then added lot's of british humor as flavoring/spices...creats a suprise tasted as amazing as some indian food on your first trial.
   
   you may be touched if you are kind of ugly betty looking and used to have a friend&idol with an angle face in ur childhood too; u may get deeper understanding on some serious issues about spirit of a race,tradition and culture if you used to stay in the UK for a while;you may also have interest if you want to learn the modern UK OR CULTURE conflicts &blending...and u must expect a funny but eloquent story about a Chinese kid in America or Canana or Australia as second generation of immigrants, if you are Chinese.
   
   btw,this film really helps to get used to indian English and birmingham coutryside accent...
3. 身负印度血统，希望融入英国社会。生活中处处感受到被歧视，把思想化为文字，却得不到父母的理解－－他们只需要一个数学学得好的女儿，更不允许贪恋爱和青春期叛逆。
   她不能理解父母身上的印度文化和心理，感受到他们的痛苦--身在异乡，生活的压力，种族的遭遇；感受到他们的矛盾－－曾与英国人作战却移民来英国，仍然保持印度的传统和圈子的同时努力进入和保持在英国社会的知识阶层，受人尊敬的阶层。
   但是，尼娜不认为自己应该同样地承受这些。她只是一个出生在英国的青春期少女。期望和阿妮塔一样时髦和受欢迎。她的生活目标简单而英国化。
   文化的冲突在生活里成长。显然印度移民不是一个两个，导演为这一群人的生活做了一次细致的记录，以一个小女孩的视角。
