1. When watching the film and even after that, I still couldn't understand why the movie is entitled American Beauty. American Beauty is a kind of flower, and the flower kept showing up throughout the film... Maybe this is a proper reason for the name. Who knows?

   At the end of the film, knowing why Ricky's mum was so miserable, and why Ricky's dad behaved the way he did, I can hear a sigh from me, alas, two sad people wasting their life by living in a way they didn't enjoy at all.

   Argh, what life would be like for us when we are in our 30s or 40s or 50s?
