Trimmed American version, with a rewritten narration, of a Swiss documentary made in China by Praesens-Film's owner Lazar Wechsler. The original "So lebt China" (1936) had a running time of 80 minutes. The Swiss Film Archives could only find part of it (amounting to 55 minutes) and had it restored in 2019.
